Roots was born from a straightforward concept and a determination to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green launched Roots. Their inspiration stemmed from their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it signified for them. Beginning in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to include high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber apparel, and home decor. The leather goods have consistently been and continue to be crafted in Canada at our own Toronto factory.
